Known as “The Legend,” the IUP Marching Band performs at local, regional, and national venues. A combination of exuberance, excellence, and extraordinary imagination has produced magic that has made the IUP Marching Band the pride of the university and the Indiana community and keeps it in demand for special appearances around Pennsylvania and neighboring states. Innovative, state-of-the-art drills, original choreographies, and a rich variety of musical styles, all executed with great precision, equal an entertainment event of awesome emotional power. But, all of this begins in the heart of the individual band member whose talent, hard work, enthusiasm, and spirit has gone into making the IUP Marching Band a legend in its own time.

Celebrating 100 Years

During the weekend of November 4-6, the Marching Band will celebrate 100 years with the return of more than 800 marching band alumni and friends. Marching Band alumni will join current members of the IUP Marching Band on the field for a halftime performance and a "fifth quarter" performance. The chill in the air won't be the fall weather; it will be the sound of more than 65 trumpets, 50 trombones, 20 tubas, 40 flutes, the drumline, and more—electrifying the fans and athletes with what promises to be amazing performances.

Below, you will find a variety of needs for the next generation of the band program including new instruments and new equipment. In honor of the last 100 years of the marching band, we hope to raise $300,000 in the next 12 months to assist in keeping the band marching for another 100 years.
